About us

We are Alya Pirincci and Eflal Mete, students at RHS, and the founders of this organization dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. Our mission began with a simple idea: to educate our community, support those affected, and make a meaningful difference through volunteering.

Our inspiration for starting this project is deeply personal. Alya’s grandfather has been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, and witnessing his journey has been incredibly difficult. Watching someone you love slowly lose their memories, their sense of self, and the ability to recognize the people around them is heartbreaking. It affects not just the individual, but the entire family: emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Through this experience, we have seen how confusing and overwhelming Alzheimer’s can be, especially for those who may not fully understand the disease. Simple moments that once felt ordinary become painful reminders of what’s being lost. At the same time, it also showed us how important patience, compassion, and support truly are.

This personal connection is what drives our passion. We want others to better understand what Alzheimer’s is, how it affects people, and how they can support those going through it. No family should feel alone or unprepared when facing this disease.

Alzheimer’s impacts not only individuals but also their families and loved ones. We believe that awareness and understanding are the first steps toward compassion and better care. Through our program, we aim to provide clear, accessible information about the disease so more people can recognize its effects and learn how to help.

Our work focuses on three main goals:

Education: Sharing information about Alzheimer’s to help people better understand the disease.

Volunteering: Encouraging students and community members to get involved and support those affected.

Fundraising: Collecting donations to contribute to research efforts and support organizations working in Alzheimer’s care.

As students, we are passionate about using our time and energy to create positive change. What started as a personal experience has grown into a mission to help others, spread awareness, and build a supportive community.

Together, we can spread awareness, inspire compassion, and bring hope to those impacted by Alzheimer’s.
